Advocacy

Is just knowing not enough?  Do you want to make sure your interests are protected in a particular stakeholder process?  We can help make sure your voice is heard.

Change in the energy industry rarely happens behind closed doors.  Most change is accompanied by a public process.  Whether that public process involves written comments or open meetings, we can help you achieve your goals.  We can help your team draft testimony for rate cases, rule making proceedings and contested cases. We can also help you submit comments on proposed changes to tariffs, business practices and reliability standards.

We have particular expertise in managing “reform” efforts.  Periodically, regulators, agencies or transmission providers react to a changing market by trying to change the underlying rules.  It’s critical that developers, project owners and interest groups participate in these processes so that their perspective is included in the ultimate outcome.

We have experience in public processes related to rate cases, interconnection and transmission service queue reform, market design (including energy imbalance markets), transmission planning, long term transmission expansion planning, reliability standards, scheduling and curtailment practices, certificates of need and necessity, and siting.

We also have significant experience working with coalitions of likeminded organizations – voices that speak together, speak more loudly.
